I like writing for Break Studios, but they have had a real dry spell, for about three months, when it comes to titles I am comfortable writing.
The articles are for guy's sites, so they have a lot of titles I would - um - be embarassed to have my name on, or to have my family see.
The articles are short, pay $8, and they require one solid source, such as a .edu or .gov site - or at least they did the last time I found a decent title there. (It is possible it had changed since I actually wrote an article there. I was able to put articles together for them in 15 minutes, making it a decent "hourly wage", when they had good titles.
They pay right when they say they will, so that is a big plus. If they start having good titles I would go back to writing more for them.
They claim you only get one try at applying; so make sure your writing sample is carefully proofread. Also, it can't hurt to mention having a hobby that fits in with traditional "guy" hobbies.
