Information About iWriter

I had never heard of this one before today, but a comment from a reader (thanks, Samatha) led me to the iWriter site.

While the writer reviews on the site's homepage are glowing, the per word earnings are pretty low. I believe it is actually the lowest paying of all the content sites I have checked out.

(I would love to hear from someone who actually writes there. If anyone is interested in doing a guest post here you can link back to your blog or website, just drop me a note through the comments, the forums, or the contact form.)

At approximately half a cent per word, according to the FAQ page, I would say this is a site that could benefit new writers and could possibly work out as a great place to build a portfolio, more than it would be for seasoned writers. However, seasoned writers could use it as a place to do fill-in work when higher paying work is slow.

The registration page says you can earn up to $15 per article, but at about half a cent per word, that would require sone LONG articles.

  1. Hi
I have written for iWriter.com. When I first started I had no idea about anything as far as freelance writing goes. I did it initially just to pay my web hosting fees. Then I found out I liked writing a lot.

Long story short, the fees quoted there are not ground in stone. After you've written about 30 articles with excellent ratings from various requesters. You are moved up to a higher paying status.

I went from making $3.00 for 500 words. (I know now that sucks) to as much as $20.00 plus. You can decide how much you want to write for. I had some request really low rates. I simply declined their project and informed them what I would write for.

    Most were fine with that.
I no longer write there, I've moved on and now charge a lot more. I book direct now.

I think a lot of the confusion on iWriter fees is because the information about the site is written poorly.

I never had a problem getting what I asked for. But there are always people who are just simply cheap and want something for nothing.

Many of which are Internet Marketers who really don't care about quality. So naturally, they don't think they need to pay more than a dollar or two.

I also know a lot of IM'ers are used to getting articles written by someone who doesn't speak English very well. The costs are cheaper but the quality is horrible.

I don't haggle and I don't work for cheap. At least not anymore! :) I write with quality in mind, every time.

I would not recommend iWriter at this point. Knowing what I know now about the business and fees.

    No way.
