Every writer I know, in the sense of knowing them through Internet forums, since I am after all, an online writer; is left in a stunned, puzzled state after the impact of the new Google changes has set in. (Sorry about that long sentence; it's an incomplete thought on my part, because I too, am a little bit dazed.
My intuition tells me to go ahead and write, because I always feel better after I write; and I have to believe that quality and doing the right thing will win out, even in a kicking match with Google. After all, Bing and Yahoo usually give more accurate search results on the terms I search for with the most frequency anyway.
What I will do with my words after I string them together, I'm not sure yet. Some will end up here, posted on Online Writing Adventures, and others on my sewing website, and the rest, well, that remains to be determined.
As I mentioned before in this blog, Suite101 is one of my favorite writing sites; and according to reports, they were also one of the two hardest hit, with articlesbase.com being the second. I've never done anything for articlesbase.com, don't really know much about them - but will check them out for a review if they make it through this mess.
I do know my page views are down on Suite101. The articles that are normally my top page view articles are still on top, it's just that the top has been lowered about 30%. I haven't checked my Associated Content/Yahoo article page views, yet. I don't do much for them anymore, but I can check my page views graph for yesterday's views.
Also, Factoidz has been coming up as blocked all day - not sure what to make of that. Could be a server problem. I hope that's all it is. I think I'll grab a cup of tea and relax until bedtime... right after I check my page views on Suite, AC, and try one more time to get into Factoidz.
